Phoenix are proud to sponsor the 2019 CIVEA Conference, to be held on Thursday 19th September 2019 at Banking Hall, Cornhill, London.
Following the Ministry of Justice’s recent call for evidence, the conference will discuss the findings of this report. This will include: the treatment of debtors, the complaints processes and whether further regulation is needed as well as exploring the challenges of adjusting to new expectations and the responsibility on local authorities.
Speakers from National Government, Local Government, regulatory bodies and professional institutes will analyse and evaluate both the content and implication of any changes to the regulations.
Two expert panel sessions on the day will be chaired by members of the Phoenix executive team:
Carole Kenney, as CIVEA's Vice President, will chair a panel covering Vulnerability & Debt Advice, with panel members including Kevin Shaw (Money and Pensions Service), Peter Tutton (StepChange) and Deven Ghelani (Policy in Practice).
Paul Caddy, Phoenix CEO, will chair a panel discussing the Impact of Regulation, with panel members including Andrew Hobley (LGSCO), Peter Wallwork (Credit Services Association), Dr Wendy Kennett (Cardiff University) and Louise Freeth (IRRV President and Head of Service at The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead).
For anyone whose professional responsibilities include, or relate to, the collection of council tax, business rates or traffic management, this conference is a must, in order to understand the content, effects and broader implications of changes in the regulations.
